I've been having a bit of an internal struggle between architecture as art and architecture as manifestation of purpose (i.e. form follows function, etc). When asked where my interest in architecture lies, I find myself responding, I want to make architecture that works. It's kind of a vague construct - something that works – but it's the best way I can describe it. It's an architecture that makes sense, that is imbued with intention but also responds in kind to its users. In that sense, it's a plastic architecture that becomes whatever you want it to be, does whatever you want it to. It just works.
Thoughts? What kind of architecture do you make?

im lost on that...
my studio project this semester is like weird on its function as a metropolitan library, but has some potent ideas about linking river-park, exploding the program, and such...and i know it will never be built....
but i rather do that, than doing a common building that will work 100%. maybe there's a way of mixing that, but hey... that makes you a master in architecture :)
