About

I am an ARCHITECTURE STUDENT.

I am a DANCER.

I am a DISCOVERER.

Above all, I am a DESIGNER.

I design spaces and experiences through my intimate knowledge of human movement coupled with the multifaceted skills of an architecture student and multicultural explorer. This interdisciplinary approach allows me to discover and apply innovative ways to traditional and spatial design. During my time at USC, I’ve designed art installations, tents and huts, turned a simple porch into a house, created stage props for TEDx, designed competitive dance costumes, and crafted a model out of homemade candy. These experiences helped cultivate robust knowledge of Rhino, AutoCAD, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and design and construction conventions.

Not only did I gain design experience in school, I also broadened my understanding during my two-year internship with MADA s.p.a.m, a Chinese architecture firm. I designed a multitude of objects ranging from mixed use towers and exposition centers to garage doors, mudrooms, and a jade bench. These design projects enabled me to learn more about designing experiences for people while still retaining the wonder and awe of classical design. Not only to I have strong technical skills, I am also proficient in physical craft such as modeling and woodworking. As disciplinarian of Architecture who has worked both in educational and professional environments, I uphold meticulous attention to detail, planning, and time management, which results in thorough and organized design solutions. In addition to my architecture skills, as a performer, I have working knowledge about stages, visual effects, and live aesthetics that are unparalleled among my peers.

As a Jamaican-American who has lived in Thailand and China, I have a unique worldview which enables me to consider uncommon design solutions. My time spent living China and Thailand has shown me that there is always more than one way to look at something, even if the solution may not be apparent such as when my group had to decide on culturally sensitive decisions for Imaginations competition for 2019.

My multicultural background has also taught me that using multilingual communication skills to interpret client’s desires enables me to adeptly solve their design problems. These skills prepare me and enable me to be the best fit for any design firm.

I love how architecture and design can influence the psyche of its occupants and communicate subliminal messages though its design and my goal as a future creator of movement-influenced architecture, themed entertainment, immersive environments, and visual experiences is to provide novel, memorable and life-changing experiences of all who encounter my work.
