Seismi city - Victoria Theatre.

Brief:

Design response to seismic events in New Zealand.

The site is the oldest purpose built cinema which is still standing in the Southern Hemisphere. The cinema has been a visual and social focus for people of Devonport since 1912.

Enhance the social and artistic atmosphere of the area, through illuminating the heritage aspects of the cinema - the magic of film & illusion, division between audience from spectacle, fire, bricks, steel and patina.
