Filigree Museum

The Filigree Museum is proposed for a site outside the city center
of Cagliari, Italy. With the surrounding urban context currently
undergoing a renewal process, the museum is designed to
connect with a changing urban fabric. The Filigree Museum was
developed to tie the various aspects of the urban renewal project
together by providing a public center that would attract visitors to
the area.
The design of the museum started with the investigation of a
parametric component that abstracted the structural principles
found in the construction of ligree jewelry. Each component uses
a build-up of thin structural elements to create a larger structural
facade. Large components are then arrayed on the site
