About

At Toronto's architectsAlliance, I am a licensed Architect delivering large-scale, high profile, and complex urban projects that seek to address the needs of an ever-changing city in a sustainable and sensitive manner. Under the leadership and design guidance of Peter Clewes, my projects take an impactful but sensitive approach in ensuring the vitality and diversity of the urban core.

Born and raised in Toronto, my work takes cultural cues from growing up in a Canadian context and having worked in offices abroad in Hong Kong. This has led to a unique approach that blends an East and West mindset that is vivid in imagination and wide in curiosity. I am open-minded and love to work collaboratively on projects or competitions.

Town of Richmond Hill, Richmond Hill, ON, CA, Policy Planner

At the Town of Richmond Hill, in addition to day-to-day responsibilities of the Planning Department, I was a part of a Official Plan Review committee that looked at writing the New Official Plan for the City. This included rigorous research and background studies as well as planning, coordinating and facilitating public consultations. The final public event was the Official Plan Summit which marked the completion of the Official Plan Review process and included guest speaker on sustainability, Alex Steffen.

For the OP Summit, I spearheaded a team to present the official plan policies through a short video. This included manipulating graphics, film, and generating 3D fly throughs of the City. Post production and graphics were completed in house and under my direction.

Through the resources provided by the City's GIS teams and support from the Region, I was able to introduce a 3D development application process that included modeling all the incoming development applications and placing them in the current context of the City. This allowed the City's planners to visually and interactively determine whether the building proposals were consistent with the intent and policies of the City.

Giffels Ltd. Giffels Design Build Inc., Toronto, Junior Planner

As the assistant to the Director, I regularly had to produce diligence reports and provide detailed updates on project statuses. In addition, I had to commute between the office and municipalities to process development applications and acquire the necessary permits and approvals from the City.

I was also responsible for monitoring the emails directed to the Director and provide support in all areas of the Director’s needs including bookings, communications, and any other duties as requested. I also attended Committee hearings and Adjustment hearings with the Director and provided any assistance as needed. This included preparation of presentation materials and reviewing statements with the Director prior to these meetings. This position helped familiarized me with the planning process, minor variances, building permit and other city related applications.
