The wealth of my experience has been with the production of construction drawings, specifications, and the construction administration on projects.  I have had significant experience with various markets including health care (HBE, Cannon Design, Durrant, & NewGround), educational (Central Design Office, Durrant, Kennedy Associates Inc.), retail (Amato/Reed Associates)
ADDITIONAL ROLES:

MAJOR PROJECTS AS PROJECT ARCHITECT / MANAGER:

• First Choice Emergency Rooms (6 facilities in Texas and Colorado)
o 6500 sf commercial adaptations
o Project Architect and team leader,  developed a prototype approach to complete similar projects in 4 weeks of production, produced documents for two and led in the production of four additional facilities
• City Garden Montessori Charter School (St. Louis, MO)
o Adaptation of 4 former factories into educational facility for 120 students
o Senior Project Architect & Field Coordinator in the design/build adaptation of four industrial facilities into an elementary school maintaining the tight schedule to complete with enough time to allow setting up the new school with staff at the opening day of school

• The Power House (St. Louis, MO)
o Conversion of Old City Hospital into commercial use
o Senior Architect teaming  with a developer and contractor to design and value engineer to complete the project within the developer’s criteria

• Enloe Medical Center (Chico, CA)
o 230 bed regional hospital
o Senior Architect leading a team of architectural staff and full service engineers for the design/build firm in the renovation of existing facilities and the new tower facility.  During the construction a new hospital board chose to have the interior redesigned while maintain the progress of the shell construction requiring my close coordination between the new documents, the construction schedule for coordination of new requirements, and the California review agencies to reduce the amount of completed construction needing modification for the newer design

• Doisy Research Center, SLU (St. Louis, MO)
o Ten-story facility with offices and with biochemistry labs
o Senior Architect leading the team of the architectural and engineering project staff in the construction documentation of the tower facility and the site structures and landscape of four city blocks  which included a promenade, reflecting ponds, fountains, and a sustainable green roof

• Marengo Memorial Hospital (Marengo, IA)
o 25 bed critical access center
o Project Manager/Project Architect leading the architectural staff and the engineering disciplines in-house and also in the firm’s offices in other locations

• Vashon High School (St. Louis, MO)
o Educational facility designed for 1600 students
o Project Manager for the newest High School built in St. Louis in over twenty years which drew much public attention which resulted in adding a 1200 seat auditorium to the project during construction

• Media Centers & Gymnasiums (O’Fallon, MO)
o 3 elementary schools for Francis Howell District)
o Project Manager/Project Architect leading a team of architects and in-house engineers in the simultaneous, expedited school’s capital improvement projects and teaming with the various contractors on each project to maintain the critical schedule of the school

• May Department Stores Company (Nationwide; Federated Department Stores)
o Project Architect/Project Manager for the design, construction documents, and construction administration for the includsion of large department stores onto new and existing malls which required coordination with the mall developers and contractors

* led team on production of contract drawings and prepared the specification for a Charter School design/build project in St. Louis renovating a series of adjacent existing industrial buildings into a school for approximately 290 students

* construction administrator for Power Plant Adaptation project in St. Louis

* managed production staff of myself and three interns to produce the construction documents for the adaptive re-use of an existing Power Plant facility at the old St. Louis City Hospital complex based on client’s program and ready to bid in 6 weeks. The project gutted the interior for whole new structure with a new building use.

* delivered successful completion of first Open MRI project at HBE Coproation, a nationwide design/builder of health care facilities. The condensed schedule was met and budget maintained with no adjustments needed from the original price.
* in-house construction administrator for largest hospital project with HBE at the time maintaining on-going construction of the shell while the interior was redesigned at the request of the owner’s new board for updated equipment and layouts after construction of the concrete structure had started leading team of three other architects in the revising documents for re-pricing.
* because of the special regulations by California’s Office of Statewide Healthcare Planning and Development, I specialized in California hospitals as project architect

Health Care: A new 5 story / 230 bed Hospital including a new surgical wing, a renovated wing for a new Imaging Department, a delivery and nursery floor, Bariatric units along with renovation of the existing Enloe Medical Center’s 4 story / 120 bed facility to become the Out-Patient services building, Chico, CA;

Renovation of the newly constructed Mt. Vernon Regional Center Medical Office Building for a new open MRI, Mt. Vernon, OH;

New addition including Imaging Department with a new CAT Scan facility and a mobile MRI unit along with renovation of the existing 11 bed critical access Santa Ynez Cottage Hospital including New Emergency Department, Labs, administration offices, and records storage in Solvang, CA
