About 

I have recently relocated to New York from the United Kingdom where I worked as a Graduate Landscape Architect at an environmental consultancy in York. While in the UK I gained my Masters in Landscape Architecture from the University of Sheffield. Previously, I completed my BA of Environmental Design in Architecture from NC State.

Employment 

Arcus Consulting Services, York, UK, Graduate Landscape Architect

Full time position working on a large range of projects from residential development to the largest UK solar farm. I was responsible for producing baseline information for all the projects in out team as well as creating the AutoCAD drawing templates to help increase productivity. Arcus in a multi-disciplinary firm meaning I worked on many projects with hydrologist, ecologist, environmentalists, and planners as well as working with contractors to complete the projects. This has helped me learn from many different people about the profession and how landscape can help improve projects.

Summer placement working part time, involving occasional work with AutoCAD and sketching landscape ideas for engineers within the firm. My main responsibility for the summer was collecting and producing a masterplan strategy document for the North Lincolnshire Council.

Term time placement, working part time in many aspects of the profession. I was involved in a range of projects from masterplan for a public park, design of a family garden, and the drawing for a historic restoration of a Nesfield garden at Kelham Hall. I discovered original drawings of the Nesfield garden that helped our team discover the plants used in the project.

Volunteered doing AutoCAD work for several designs. Performed site visits, design work, and costings. This included the use of sketches, AutoCAD, and Sketchup. I met with members of the construction team to understand how the design would be built. Assisting with running the volunteers to help maintain the park.
