OBMI  announced the addition of four key staff members to its Miami office. The new hires, which include a building information modelling, or BIM, manager, two junior architects, and a marketing coordinator, underscore the firm’s efforts to attract a new generation of tech-savvy creative talent.

OBMI has invested significantly in the past year to train staff in the latest design, modelling, and virtual reality software, and is exploring the use of drones and other technology to enhance the collaborative design process used with luxury hospitality clients and partners.

“Our clients want greater visualization and a richer design experience that allows them to engage in a very sensory way with the spaces we create for them,” said Liora Haymann, managing director and board member for OBMI. “We focus on hiring creative, out-of-the-box thinkers for whom BIM, 3D modeling and virtual reality are second nature so they help us meet that demand. They bring a fresh approach to our work and are pleased when they see that they get a genuine seat at the table to explore and implement their ideas.”

OBMI has increased its architecture and support staff by 35% in the past year, reflecting a period of significant growth for the firm: A dozen new employees were hired in South Florida, while four others have joined OBMI offices in the Caribbean. The company employs approximately 70 people across six offices and is actively interviewing additional architecture staff for Miami.
