The City of Raleigh, North Carolina has commissioned Henning Larsen Architects, in collaboration with local firm RATIO, to design the new East Civic Tower as part of its Phase One Civic Campus plan. The tower will serve as a new City Hall and is expected to consolidate city functions as well as other public services and amenities.
Henning Larsen's New York office will lead the architectural design and RATIO's Raleigh studio is in charge of delivery.
"We’re honored to work in the thriving city of Raleigh to create a
modern workplace, and at the same time, a building that invites great
public service," Michael Sørensen, partner and director at the firm's New York office, remarked in a statement.
Programming and schematic design is scheduled to begin this month.
