About

I have always wanted to be an architect, but only now do I understand what architecture means.

My name is María, I am 24 years old, and I started my studies at the School of Architecture of the University of Zaragoza in 2017. Throughout these six years of my degree and master's degree, I have learned that to design is to mature, and that to learn from the project As it is designed through reflection, it is the way to achieve the best results.

In the fifth year I completed the Erasmus+ study program, where I had the opportunity to study at the University of Florence. There I learned aspects of architecture that I had not been able to delve into before, such as the topic of restoration, very present in the culture of Italy. Furthermore, the mere fact of being able to enjoy the city of Florence for a full year was enriching in many ways.

This was not the first time that I lived outside of Spain, since in 2014 I obtained the Assist program scholarship, where I was able to study a year in the United States, at the Hebron Academy Preparatory School, in the state of Maine. Therefore, since I was 15 years old I have been aware of the importance of intercultural connections, and how much they develop personality and understanding of different points of view and perspectives.

I have enjoyed my years at school, where I have been able to develop creativity and my teamwork skills, but above all I want to go out into the “real world” and show myself what I am capable of achieving. Now I know that architecture is not only about generating structures or designing buildings, but also about improving the emotional connections between people and those inhabited spaces.

Among my hobbies, apart from my career, are photography, music, and getting to know new cities or countries where I can be surprised.

I consider myself a committed person in the work field. My previous experience in architectural studies reflects my ability to face different situations with determination and creativity. I believe that diversity of perspectives enriches problem solving, and I am confident in my ability to collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Additionally, I value the opportunity to learn from my work and constantly evolve.
