San Francisco, CA
A ground-up mixed-use building combining 150 units of affordable family housing, 11,000 sq.ft. retail space, and a community center. The design encompasses a city block in a new neighborhood rising literally out of of bay mud. We choreographed the architecture to define the character of its varied frontages:
The tall corner marks the gateway to Mission Bay South at the 4th street bridge with a chiseled angle, folded aluminum veils, and a continuous block of retail.
Quietly syncopated volumes lift above town-homes to front a park and pedestrian mews.
