Phoenix College Physical Science Building

Holly Street Studio Architects was commissioned to renovate the 1969 Ralph Haver Science Building on the iconic, mid-century Phoenix College Campus.

Working from an extensive Education Specification, the design team created a plan that built upon the building’s rigorous grid system, aligning program elements for maximum vertical efficiency and horizontal elements for clear and intuitive wayfinding.

Known as the C Building project - this building transformed an outdated stack of classrooms into a modern teaching facility for chemistry and physical sciences. It integrates instructional and operational facilities, resources, and personnel of the Physical Sciences Department, providing an environment that enhances opportunities for faculty members to cross-pollinate ideas and develop interdisciplinary content and resources. The project invites students from all programs to use the interior and exterior gathering spaces adding value beyond new Science classrooms.
