K house

Project of a single-family and partially two-storey house situated on a slope of a hill in a picturesque area. The house  makes use and adapts itself to natural shape of the parcel – the building meanders along the slope of the hill, slides down along it and finally blends in the ground. Taking advantage of the slope allowed  for partial immersion of the house and therefore despite a large size of the house it does not dominate over its surroundings. Floor shape of the house reminds ‘S’ letter and ‘cuts out’ two courtyards:  public (near the entrance area) and private (a patio with internal garden). A uniform roof with the ridge going along the slope covers both single-storey and two-storey part of the house.
The walls and roof are made of the same material that emphasises the uniformity of the house’s shape. The cut out cavities marking important places  are made of light wood and contrast with the dark lining of the house.

The building is divided into zones: daily area, recreational and private zone. Entrance area separates the daily area from technical rooms and a garage. There is also a guest room and a study. On the second storey there is a private zone with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. Beneath this zone there is a recreational part of the house. The living area encircles the patio providing residents with direct access to it. The usable area is 377 m2.
