The mission of the WorkShop is to provide a place that links products and people through celebrating, educating and marketing the importance of craft.  Connecting process and product on a neutral spine, WorkShop is a hub where communities support local entrepreneurship, confront materials, learn do-it-yourself techniques, appreciate the tangible and embrace the ‘back-to-basic’ lifestyle.
Shipping containers act as material storage and transfer materials to the workrooms or completed projects to the retail shops.  The ability of these containers to shift in and out of the spine constantly changes the space and keeps the building alive.  Through rigourous planning, a matrix of materiality ranging from color and texture to ceiling condition and furniture selection creates a system and a canvas for the users of the space.
