Description:
Jackson, MS, is losing people from suburban sprawl leaving downtown nearly deserted. The goal of this project was to create a vibrant central transportation hub that would encourage people to travel into the city during all hours. The focus was to expand onto the existing AMTRAK station by designing a light rail system and bus lanes to go beneath the elevated rail line and a new union station that would wrap the transit lines. This expansion on Jatran, the public transportation system, would connect the various neighborhoods and towns offering a more reliable mode of transportation.
