About

I am a passionate individual and have recently graduated with my Diploma in Architecture at the Mackintosh School of Architecture. I now seek Part Two employment with an architectural practice.

I was born in Seoul, South Korea and raised in Hong Kong, China before relocating to Central Scotland in 1998. The combination of my Asian heritage and international background and experience, along with my native command of English, allows me to quickly assimilate new cultural and work environments.

My final year at university has demanded a high level of personal and academic commitment. I have consistently met deadlines and risen to the challenge of formulating and solving a Final Design Thesis of my own devising. This has taken the form of an experimental aquarium in Reykjavik’s Old Harbour.

Employment

Architects 49 Limited, Bangkok, TH, Part One Professional Experience

I worked, for my part 1 professional experience, in the office of A49 International in Bangkok, Thailand. Based in Bangkok, and established in 1983, Architects 49 Limited is part of one of the largest architectural practices and consultants in South East Asia, the ‘A49 Group’.

I primarily worked for the International Department of A49 which deals with a variety of projects including luxury houses, offices, mixed use buildings, condominiums and department stores.I have been involved in major ongoing contracts in Abu Dhabi, the UAE, Vietnam, Malaysia and Singapore, as well as Thailand. I logged many hours of work within a range of very interesting projects. These have included the design of a luxury holiday home of an Arab Prince in the hills of Al Ain, competition entries for hotel designs in Vietnam, as well as a variety of high rise commercial and residential projects in Abu Dhabi and Thailand.

My colleagues gave me the opportunity to provide input into the development of the plans and the exploration of 3D form. I have learned a lot about the economic factors that heavily influence all branches of architecture.
