Project: This advanced studio’s objective was to design an artists work, living , and exhibition space while focusing on the modulation of space, amplification of light, resolution of scale, fulfillment of proportion, purpose of structure, and authenticity of material.  the site  is a typical chicago lot, 150’ x 200’. the surrounding context was left ambiguous in order to focus clearly on the problem. I chose  to focus on the relationships between inside space and outside space.  I strove to reach a satisfying scale to the entire project , by focusing on  connecting the spaces, inside to outside, first floor to second floor, and exhibition to work to living and finally to garden.
