The new architecture for the MCBA is both monumental and transparent géologiqe the form of the museum is broken by the activity, allowing glimpses into the heart of the building. The ideal proportions of galleries used to establish a rhythm of space and structure along the Promenade des Arts and rail lines. Between these spaces, structure and movement of cracks formed transparent, which filter and diffuse light in the galleries, with views of the countryside and the city while connecting the vertical continuity of the building. With a single action pivot and juxtaposition of the structure, the building comes alive with light and energy. Architecture becomes the link between the city, landscape and art in a synthetic experiment.
The exterior of the building is covered with ceramic cut deep, semblances to local Flysch rock formations, while the circulation spaces, courtyards and cracks within the walls of polished stones calcaines local. The roofs of the galleries offer a cut and finish of light skylight that spreads gently into the theaters.
