Chinese cities are confronted with intense levels of population growth. This and other factors place a very high value on land. The high value of land requires a very high population density. Towers can always be driven to a height that will exceed the density provided by mid-rise high-density prototypes. Thus, land values are so high that one is driven back to the high-rise tower solution. In china, the prevailing way of urban renovation is to completely remove all the current inhabitants on the site, which is definitely a waste of resources. In addition, the original community and culture, which most inhabitants prefer, will also vanish and be replaced by an unfamiliar new one in such scenario.
