This elegant serpentine residence was 12, 000+ SF designed for Dr. and Mrs. Springborn in Phoenix, Arizona. The concept for the plan emerged from a geometric rotated grid laid upon the site. High upon a precipice overlooking a canyon, the house was designed as a retirement haven for the owners. The budget was $2, 000,000 in 1990. Exposed maple beams and many details recalled the design of Japaness Pagodas.
