A new hotel is proposed to reinvigorate America’s oldest indoor shopping center. The hotel and public plaza drive traffic through the abondoned Providence arcade by intersecting the plaza and hotel lobby directly with the first floor corridor of the arcade. The hotel tower is sited to give guests views of the Narragansett Bay to the south, and the state capitol to the north, while the simple façade provides a backdrop for the classical arcade entries.
