Diomira's Rest Stop

Based on the book Las ciudades invisibles (The invisible cities) of Italo Calvino, one had to abstract the essence of each city and with it, design a sequence of proyects, a 3D map to the city, a billboard announcing the exit to the city, and a rest stop before arriving to the city. My group decided to do a water route instead of a typical road route, thus the project ended up being a rest stop for cruised and boats in the middle of an imaginary ocean. The program included a yatch harbor, two bays for docking and refueling (one for cruises and harbor for boats), a hotel and a control/security tower. Parametric concepts and paneling was explored in the skins of both the hotel and tower.
