I was born In a small town in the north of Portugal and immigrated to the United States with my family at the age of nine. I studied drafting at a technical school and continued to pursuit architecture in Boston, MA. Post graduation I acquired a design position at a small firm in Greenwich, CT that concentrated mostly on high end residential design. There I had the opportunity to participate in the entire architectural process.
This was crucial for my development as a designer because it allowed me first hand access to the firm’s principal and the ability to experience the full scope of the business. I was encouraged to pursuit my design ideas and given room to explore new avenues.
Five years later I made the decision to explore the world of freelance design with the idea of expanding my professional experience.  I started designing small addition and renovations for some friends and it quickly grew into much larger projects.  Using the skills I had acquired I provided many different services from consulting to realizing a few design/build projects myself.  Always looking to broaden my horizons I’m seeking a position in an architectural firm that will encourage growth towards professional licensing.  I’m confident that given the opportunity I will be an immediate asset to your firm.
