University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, US, Graduate Teaching Assistant

This position entailed the instruction of lower division design studios under the supervision of a professor at the college. It involved the design and facilitation of distinct lesson plans in order to achieve a method of architectural thinking amongst students. Specifically, issues of analysis, process, concept, space making, framework, hierarchy, scale and form. Exercises addressing these issues would be assigned and would enable conversations in class sessions to reestablish what they have already built or drawn in a way that reinforces the learning process. These conversations would need constant alteration as students' learning abilities differ, as does their relationship to the subject matter. It was the job of the instructors to meet and discuss these various issues at weekly meetings, as well as input further time with individual students after hours.
