About

I have graduated from the Ohio State University in June 2007 with a bachelors of science in Interior Space Design. While attending the University, I also received my bachelors in History of Art and interned at The Columbus Museum of Art. At the museum I was an assistant to the registrar where I was in charge of the organization and research of the museum's main collection.

As a design student I have been introduced to a variety of representational methods. Although my area of concentration has been in the digital realm, I have also been trained in analogue drafting skills as well. I have experience with a number of digital programs which are used to make architectural and interior representation possible. These programs include: SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros, Flamingo, and 3D Studio Max. In addition to 3D software I am also fluent in 2d Graphics programs such as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.

While at Ohio State I was also given the opportunity to participate in multidisciplinary competition projects. One such project was the 2006 Natural Talent Competition sponsored by the United States Green Building Council. Throughout this project I worked with students from architecture, landscape architecture and product design. The result of this competition was a first place standing at the regional level.

I have also worked as a co-op designer at Mosaic Design Studio in Columbus Ohio. As a designer at Mosaic I worked on a variety of different projects ranging from health care and hospitality to restaurant and residential. My tasks on these projects included site visits, ff&e selections, floor planes, finish schedules, project documentation, and furnishings and finishes boards. I was also in charge of organizing the materials library and keeping contact with manufacturer representatives.

In 2008 I worked  as a freelance designer with Fury -X design studio. As a freelance designer I have been involved in the creative end of two projects. The first being a hospitality design for the Residence Inn hotel chain, and the other being a trade show exhibit for Sony.  As a freelance designer, I have learned to work as an independent entity of a design team while at the same time  keeping in mind the goal of the entire team.

In 2008/2009 I was employed as a retail designer at Charles Sparks and Company where I was involved in concept design on a number of different retail projects. My responsibility entailed concept sketches, hand drawn elevations and floor plans as well as fixture design and rendered images of the spaces.

In 2010 I worked as a consultancy designer for Zen Genius, a visual merchandising firm and also D Hospitality, a case good design studio and manufacturer. At DHospitality I designed marketing materials for various business types. While working at Zen Genius I designed and 3D modeled concepts and graphics for store windows.

In 2011 I was employed by Fitch Design Studio in Columbus, Ohio as a contract 3D retail designer. My duties included 3D modeling and representation of retail spaces. I was also involved in diagramatic 3D modeling of spaces for initial design ideation. At fitch I utilized modeling and  visualization programs such as SketchUp, V-ray, and Adobe suites.

In 2012 I was employed by Nook Industries as a contract 3d designer in their marketing department. At Nook I utilized 3DS Max and scanline rendering engine to create thumbnail images of their product line.
