About

My drive to succeed and my desire to continually challenge myself are two main proponents for my interest in architecture.  With career experience in landscape architecture, I have a solid understanding of how to create meaningful and memorable ‘spaces’, in which I believe is a strong platform to initiate understanding of how to create meaningful and memorable ‘places’.  I am eager to expand my knowledge and experience in the design field to become a distinguished architect.  Collaborating with architects in the past has allowed me to compare their design approaches with the design skills I have developed through my education and work experience.  Each project that I have worked on has further motivated me to pursue a career in architecture.
While I possess a strong initiative and desire, I also have the educational and professional background to succeed in architecture.  I have a solid understanding of design concepts and I have been able to employ my design skills as an associate landscape architect. While employed at Baltimore based landscape architecture firms my duties included designing and drafting construction sets such as master plans, grading plans, layout plans, detail sheets, and planting plans.  I have performed construction administration in which I manage the coordination between the client and contractors, determining the schedule of construction and resolving any construction issues.  My administrative duties include client relations and collaborating with firms and county officials.  I believe that I could prove to be an asset to any firm/ design team as an architect with a fundamental understanding of site design as a whole.  Engaging the existing site factors is important to a successfully sustainable project.  Throughout my life I have had a vast interest and appreciation for the environment, natural and built.  Sustainability has been a big influence in my career especially as of late.  Since March 2009, I have been a L.E.E.D. Accredited Professional (BD+C) in which the title has allowed me to be a part of environmentally responsible building projects.  With a background in architecture, I can be even more immersed in LEED projects and will be able to continue designing buildings/sites that lower the carbon footprint.
