I am a Drafter-Designer  who is results oriented with strengths in both the architectural and electro-mechanical areas of drafting.  Proficient in AutoCAD through, 2008 both 2d and 3d, I strive to  establish a positive, professional rapport among senior management, co-workers and the customer, all of which are an integral part of the design process.

Employment 

Skyline Homes, Woodland, Drafter

At Skyline I was one of two drafters in my department. Being the senior member, I oversaw the application of company drawing standards and checked my associates progress.
-Coordinated with sales personnel on preliminary requirements for orders.
-Verify design revision level, and attend “order read” with manufacturing/production supervisors, look for any special issues, resolve conflicts, and coordinate with other departments as required.
-Drew Standard, Semi-Custom and full Custom home drawing packages as required.
-Coordinated with the corporate design dept, sales and marketing as required for order completion.
-Problem solve with both internal and external customers as required for designs.
-Streamlined online menus and created block libraries for ease of drawing floor plans, and order tracking.
-Established online distribution system for drawings and related documentation

Fleetwood Homes, Woodland, Lead Drafter

Working at Fleetwood, I checked all new drawing packages for completeness and errors. Reviewed drawings against orders from the sales department.
-Tracked orders and associated documentation/drawings through the build cycle.
-Did corporate design verifications on those drawings which were nonstandard or “custom homes”, for inclusion of customer ordered features and options.
-Assigned work to subordinates (2) to maintain the work flow on the line.
-Established and set both long term and near term department priorities with my supervisor.
-Problem solved with both internal and external customers as required. Handled “spur of the moment” details, and related work, interfacing with Supervisors and Workers as required.

Self-employed/Contractor, Redding, Designer-Drafter

At this point I tried to start my own business, which ultimately flopped because I was unable to get enough work lined up. So I wound up doing some remodeling and a few other miscellanious "pick up projects."

L3 Wescam, Healdsburg, Sr. Designer

At Wescam, I was employed as assistant to manager of the Engineering Services Department for design work on aircraft, helicopter, UAV, night IR, and day vision surveillance systems.
-As Senior Designer/Engineering Department Assistant Manager, produced mechanical drawings and written documentation (2D and 3D) for aircraft, helicopters, UAV, night IR and day vision surveillance systems.
- Reviewed work of eleven designers and engineers. Ensured compliance to Mil-Std 100 and ANSI Y-14. Ensured hardware used on flight articles conformed to MS, AN, NAS and FAA standards.
-Other responsibilities included being an ISO9001 Internal Auditor during our certification effort.
-Examined draft copies of procedures against the proposed Quality Manual, and against “the standard," which in this case was ANSI/ASQC Q9001-1994.
-Distilled my findings, and presented the discrepancies to our Quality Rep and the QC Manager.
-On other projects, worked with Canadian counterpart on new night vision system while remaining within ITARS guide lines.

Here I worked as Draftsman in Equipment Manufacturing Division where we designed and built laser-based paper cutting and engraving machines.
-Created 2D and 3D Orthographic detail and assembly drawings of production line electromechanical equipment, components and assemblies.
-Worked with management, established both long and near term department priorities.
-Established EMD Technical Library
-Established the EMD block library for Autocad drawings.
-Researched and recommended purchased parts and components.
-Provided engineering support to other departments, and engineers, on conceptual and advanced projects.

Precision Lamp, Cotati, Document Manager/Designer

At Precision Lamp, I worked for two supervisors: the Manager of R&D and the Manager of Quality Control simultaneously. There we manufactured miniature and sub-miniature lighting components for the aviation, aerospace and other industries.
-As Document Manager, I initiated procedures establishing the company Document Control System for ISO 9000 certification.
-Successfully developed and certified the company’s system in 60 days.
-Worked as a Procedure Writer, and Lead ISO auditor.
-Supported company's Malcolm Baldridge effort as a platform instructor.
-Worked successfully with management, consultants, and outside sales staff (Scandinavia, England, and Japan).
-Supervised two part time clerk/assistants.
On the drawing side of the job, I was a Designer/Draftsman in R&D Engineering Department
-Drew orthographic, isometric and 3D drawings, documentation of pneumatic,
and electro-mechanical components, molds, injection molds and assem¬blies.
- Worked with company engineers, scientists, sales staff and contractors supporting several on going projects.
-Maintained office equipment; Diazo blue print copier, Calcomp pen plotter and Laser printers.
-Helped out engineers and technicians with Autocad related problems A/R.
