Dear Sirs,

My background is very diverse as my resume will show.  I attended and graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Architectural Engineering focusing on Design.  The curriculum under this program has empowered me with the skills needed to become a member of the Architectural Community.

Before, during and after my collegiate career, I endeavored to gain experience in construction, maintenance and project participation in order to fully understand the field portion of the profession.  Under the supervision of Floyd Comer, a subcontractor in the city of Greensboro, NC, I gained knowledge of construction techniques, renovation of residences, plumbing, and project management.   The Architectural Engineering Program at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University involved three sub-elements that included Design of Structures, Structural Design and Analysis, and HVAC System Design.  As previously stated, the choice I made was in the area of Design of Structures.  Although my focus was Design, the curriculum included Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Systems Design, HVAC System Design, Soils Analysis, Thermodynamic Analysis, Fluid Analysis, and City Planning and Urban Design.

Over the past years I have also taken positions outside of the field.. Now I am a graduate of Computer Aided Design and Drafting at ITT Technical Institute.   While attending ITT, I have gained a vast wealth of understanding in different software such as; AutoCad Architecture 2008, Autodesk Inventor Pro 2008, AutoCad Civil 2008, Autodesk 3D’s Max 2008 and Adobe Photoshop CS3.  I have had planning and design experience including contributing to the design of a storage barn with the 37th Engineering Battalion; designing a Daycare facility in Greensboro, NC; developing floor plans for residences; and leading a project to fully redo HHC 37th Eng Battalion’s Soldier Barrack's HVAC system.

         Sincerely,

         Phillip A. Bynum
