I worked in the Healthcare Studio, but was afforded the opportunity to acquire experience in a wide variety of project types. The work has spanned from clinics in the USA and Haiti, to hangars and training facilities for the F-15 program in Saudi Arabia.

My position at the AECOM Roanoke Office focused on the production of images and drawings for feasibility studies. I worked in the Healthcare studio, and created Revit models for 3d visualization and area scheduling of an 8 floor addition to a hospital at UNC Chapel Hill. I provided one-on-one training to the project staff in Revit Architecture, supplementing the official training provided by the company. I generated feasibility study drawings for a military dormitory, working closely with the civil engineer responsible for the site plan.

This position focused on the production of sheets for a dormitory for the local university system. I produced sheets detailing the construction of an HVAC shed adjacent to the dormitory; as well as door and preliminary window schedules for the entire project. I also produced a preliminary rendering for the project. It was in this internship where i was given the chance to master the use of Revit in an office setting.

The project of the summer was a residence for a local family, who had already secured a contractor. During the design process i participated in several of the meetings between the architect and the client / contractor.
