Built School Projects

First project - An installation at the Muncie Children’s Museum designed for infants and toddlers. As a group of five students, we were inspired by regional culture and used the farmers’ market as a way for toddlers to learn and explore ideas. The vegetable garden facilitates learning by matching and pairing objects, and the farm stand encourages cooperative learning through the interaction of children as they exchange “play money” for fruits and vegetables. The construction method was important because it was imperative to remove any safety threats, such as splintering wood or exposed screws.

Second project - ecoREHAB - This was a one-semester studio that began the demolition and transformation of a ten-year-old abandoned apartment to be transformed into a single family home. The project was unique because I gained exposure to real-world experiences, such as direct involvement in learning construction techniques, reviewing construction bids, lead-safe removal practices, and adhering to OSHA standards.
