Quarry House

The quarry house is a residence for hosting large parties, particularly for fundraising.  We wanted to design a house which could seem to expand and collapse depending on how many users were there at any given time.  The volumes of the home are knotted together with views and skylights pulled into the center of the residence.  We worked to carve these spaces and volumes create a sense of layered smoke on the interior.  When the house is empty the layers collapse together and the couple use the lower portion of the house, when they are entertaining the balconies and openings begin to be filled with guests revealing all the layers.
