The Lighting Practice’s Heather Kilroy was recently featured in the 2013 December issue of LD+A, The magazine of the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA). The article showcases “The Future Leaders” in the world of architectural lighting design. The 17 individuals represent all segments of the lighting industry, from designers to manufacturer representatives to students.
Heather began her career as a lighting designer in NYC shortly after graduating from The Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Architectural Engineering and focus in Architectural Lighting Design in 2005. In 2008 Heather joined The Lighting Practice’s team in Philadelphia as a designer with the goal of becoming project manager. Within a year she had achieved her goal. Heather’s ability to lead, encourage growth and creativity, and educate her fellow designers was immediately recognized. Her technical knowledge paired with her upbeat personality made her a popular designer to work with amongst her peers and clients.
Heather is a confident and energetic person who has developed into an excellent project manager and lighting designer. She is that busy person who we can always count on to get the job done and done well. While balancing motherhood and career, she also devotes time to volunteer activities within our professional community – Helen K. Diemer, President of The Lighting Practice
We are proud of Heather for her achievements and her well-deserved recognition in LD+A Magazine.
