Started in Italy in 1928 by Gio Ponti, <a href="http://www.domusweb.it/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">Domus</a> has established itself as one of the most respected, and longest-running architecture & design publications. It is refreshing to see that it has also been able to embrace new technology in such a graceful way, as seen in their new iPad app. An almost 5 out-of 5 stars after numerous reviews is almost unprecedented for a new app!</p>

Domus initially unveiled the new iPad app in Venice, at the Biennale, on August 28th 2012, complementing the existing magazine, website, apps and social media channels.</p>

While European cities present very low demographic growth today, they have extraordinarily urban and even agriculturally built environments. Adding to these circumstances circumstances certain environmental and social sustainable values, and bearing in mind the current economical situation, you can reach the conclusion that the re-use existing built patrimony – obsolete after new and continuous social, economic and technological changes – is a need. In this context, French architects Anne Lacaton & Jean Philippe Vassal have been developing an uncommon philosophy marked by their interest in preservation and social living improvement refurbishments, very far from the professional positioning of most reknown architects.</p>
