The project focused on the abandoned and badly damaged Bancroft School plot, renovating the school building into LEED Platinum apartments, and constructing new homes on the grounds (designed by local <a href="http://archinect.com/firms/cover/56886078/bnim-architects" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">BNIM Architects</a>). The community complex also includes an auditorium, gym, computer lab and public gardens.</p> <p> Originally founded by Brad Pitt in response to the alarmingly slow rate of reconstruction in post-Katrina New Orleans, Make It Right uses urban acupuncture tactics to help damaged cities recuperate.
