HYBRID ASSEMBLAGE

In this proposal I designed a hybrid condition between the urban and the suburban by addressing the conditions of density and figure ground ratios.

All colors represent different types of housing; the idea is to create a gradient of high density to low density and back to high when it gets near the lake.  All blocks are connected by different types of green areas that go through the different blocks connecting with the existing green strip of Lakeshore.

Each type of house has a distinctive characteristic from one to another, in addition of being able to be custom with diverse possibilities.  Customizing each home is possible because of the precast modular system, the different facades to choose from and the diverse materials that can be applied to.  Also each block has different possible configurations with various public areas.

Another important part of the proposal is the orientation of the houses.  Each front of the house is orientated to the alley, transforming it into a community area.  This community area combine with the different types of public/recreational programs will help connect each block to one another.
