About

I am diversifying my career experience at Sabre, a commercial general contracting firm, by getting direct exposure to the construction field. I attend several weekly Owner-Architect-Contractor meetings, review shop drawings, product data, and cut sheets against civil, architectural, MEP, and structural construction documents during the submittal process, and am constantly on the job site seeing a broad range of details worked out in the field, in real time. I work on anywhere from 8 to 12 projects at a time, and am also afforded the opportunity to be involved in the subcontractor bidding process. I enjoy our firm culture; the executive team knows how to have a good time while still raising the bar of performance.

While it takes additional time & effort to achieve design criteria experience, I have the opportunity to do so through Austin Community Design. My first project with this organization was a design for the Austin Colony HOA's community center. I joined this organization two weeks before the deadline, but finished preliminary drawings and a 3D model for a community center that spoke to the vernacular of the surrounding neighborhood, while being an intuitively planned, inviting place to gather. Although we were not awarded the project, the opportunity in it's self was nonetheless fulfilling. I can't wait to see what's in store for the future.

I have approximately two years to go in the Intern Development Program to become a licensed architect. I've recently started testing for the Architect Registration Exam as well. I am fine-tuning and cultivating my knowledge & passion within my profession to be an asset, resource, and philanthropist in the field.
