Claudia Wainer is a Los-Angeles-based designer, researcher and educator.
Her work investigates the intersections of technology, consumer culture and gender. Focusing on the interior, her work challenges current perceptions of domestic objects and their relationship to the identity of interior spaces.
She currently teaches undergraduate design studios at Cal Poly Pomona. She completed her Masters of Architecture degree at The Southern California Institute of Architecture in 2017 where she also received her postgraduate degree from SCI-Arc’s Design Theory and Pedagogy program in 2018. She has worked alongside many notable figures like Florencia Pita as her teaching assistant and in her firm Pita & Bloom, Frank Gehry as his student and researcher for reimagining the design of prisons with the non-profit organization A New Way of Life, and Hernan Diaz Alonso who was her mentor for her graduate thesis project at SCI-Arc.

Design Theory and Pedagogy is a one-year (three term) postgraduate degree culminating in a Master of Science.
The program investigates architecture as a knowledge-based discipline, and how it intersects both professional practice and academic scholarship. Students in this program receive hands on training through teaching laboratories, researching the historical and contemporary context of architectural education, and designing new models for design pedagogy.
